Chiang Mai Boutique Hotels

  • Chiang Mai background

Chiang Mai has attracted many individual hoteliers. As a result, you will find more variety in the city’s boutique hotels than anywhere else in Thailand. No matter what style or ambiance you are looking for, you will probably find your perfect retreat.

Within the small and winding streets of the old city, you’ll find a number of boutique hotels. Although being in the middle of town, these hotels are set in tranquil and private surrounding.

Mid-way between the old city and Doi Suthep mountain is Nimmanhaemin Street. This street has become a popular hangout for Thais and foreigners, especially the young, hip crowd. There are a lot of good restaurants, bars, coffee shops and local businesses in the area. And the boutique hotels you find here are typically hip, chic and modern.

  • To the other side of the old city, along The Ping River, is the quieter side of town. Here you’ll find boutique hotels that are elegant, sophisticated and somewhat more high end.

Head out of town, to the surrounding countryside and mountains, and there are hotels more suited to quiet contemplation amid the trees and greenery. In the Mae Sa valley in particular you’ll find a number of secluded boutiques resorts in stunning settings.

Chiang Mai is an engaging city with plenty of things to do and to see both in and out of town. From historic places, temples and unforgettable adventure to (sometimes!) wild nights out.
